The Conference
268.
Here we have keynotes and lunch for 6,500 being served at the Massachusetts Conference for Women last week. The crowd came to learn and network, and was treated to some interesting speakers. I was disappointed that I had to leave before Gloria Steinem took the stage... It had been my plan to appear very official & get up close for some photos, but I had to get home in time for the school bus.
Let's take a moment here to let the full irony of that circumstance sink in...
All set? Good. Moving on...

Yes, the irony struck me. Aren't your 3 old enough to have studied in the barn until you arrived home?
I went to the conference 4 years ago when Maya Angelou was the keynote. Even in that room of 5,000 women, she filled the space with her presence. She is an amazing woman.
Oh, yeah, I got it. Just wait till I take Gender and Social Structure in the spring . . .
